The Dawes Bicycle Company was founded in Birmingham, UK 1906 when Charles Dawes went into business in partnership with a cycle company originally called Humphries & Dawes. By 1926 Dawes Cycles Ltd had been formed and concentrated solely on the production of Cycles. Dawes Cycles are famed for their quality being built by hand by an extremely skilled workforce. Current top of the range is the Dawes Giro 500 the frame being built from double butted alloy 6061 with carbon stays and an Alloy Steerer with carbon blades. The finishing kit for the Giro models is all of good quality. From the Dawes Sportif range comes the Sportif Ultra Ti with a similar price tag to the Giro 500 the Sportif Ti is made as the name would suggest from hi tech Titanium and built for comfort with a low weight and Sportif/Audax geometry the ride characteristics of the Sportif 3AI/2.5V are fantastic and give comfort that only titanium frames can give- rigid, and comfortable with carbon forks, Shimano Ultegra compact gear set and WH-RS20 wheels.
