Lightspeed Road Bikes are a Top quality U.S bicycle manufacturer founded by David Lynksey in Ooltewah, Tennessee, near Chattanooga., USA. The Litespeed Cycle company has its Southeast Machine that specialized in exotic metals.Liutespeed’s interest in bicycles began while one of the members of the founding family took up cycling while recovering from a running injury; leading eventually to manufacturing the first Litespeed bicycle in 1986. Litespeed intially manufactured road bikes from Titanium but from 2002 Litespeed bikes have also been made using Carbon composites and aluminium. Litespeed however are still primarily known for their excellent Titanium Road Bike Frames. The Litespeed Bicycle Brand is owned by the American Bicycle Group a parent company of Bike makers. Current Litespeed Road Bicycle models include the Litespeed Archon racing bicycle which incorporates 6/4 titanium in its top tube for torsional stiffness and reduced weight. The Litespeed Icon which is famed for its comfort during gruelling long rides and races utilizes softer 3al-2.5v titanium for its entire frame. The Titanium made Litespeed Ghisallo which has a higher weight than the Archon but a lower price accordingly. Road Bicycles (racing cycles) are typically designed to be ridden on tarmac roads at high speed for this reason they are made from light weight materials such as carbon, titanium and aluminum to reduce the effort required for a rider to cycle up hills or mountains. Most Road bikes have multiple gears with a cassette of sprockets at the back wheel and often with a two or three ring sprocket at the drive chain. multi gear bikes are far more flexible depending on the incline of the road being ridden.
